I am turning 58 in two months and I started training at 46. Since stepping onto the mats, I have lost over 100 lbs and gained meaningful lifelong friends who check on me and literally carry me through the dark stages of my life. I continue to show up and do my very best every single day. My only regret is not starting when I was 26.

I find immense fulfillment in working with others in the gym. I have been re-introduced to legitimate struggle, and I have learned firsthand that there is no growth without that struggle. The mental clarity I get after a long, arduous day sitting at a desk followed by the physical challenge of the gym is better for me than I ever could have imagined.

Most of all, I have gained a circle of friends who help me to be the very best version of myself. My physical progress isn’t as quick as it perhaps would have been if I were much younger, but I look at that as training my patience. I love this gym, the coaches, and the people who push me and help me on and off the mat. I cannot recommend Travis Lutter BJJ highly enough. It will change your life; it certainly changed mine
