In 1998 (First Fort Worth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School) Travis opened his first school in Fort Worth TX. I first walked into Travis Lutter’s Bjj nearly a year ago with a slight curiosity and within a few days developed an obsession with the sport. The group of men/women Travis has put together make up a very focused and intense environment to train in and every minute is a blast. Within the first six months I was and am in the best shape of my life and feel great. Being in that kind of shape makes you immediately more aware of the food we put in our bodies, believe me a former regular of Jack in the box, and realize that you can’t eat that stuff and have the energy to perform. There is no better motivation to eat right than getting beat up because that burger you ate slowed you down. When I started training at Travis Lutter’s school I was horribly out of shape and tipped the scales at over 270 lbs. I generally felt sluggish and I was just looking for some activity that would help me lose a few pounds and maybe have more energy. I never imagined I would lose over 70lbs and get into the best shape of my life. That was over 8 years ago and I am happy to say that I have kept off the weight.
